Rush ready for striking challenge

The former Welsh international, who scored a record 346 goals during two highly successful spells with the Reds, has been brought to Anfield to help boost the scoring efforts of the current Liverpool crop of goalscorers.

He said: "Looking at the age of the club's strikers now, they have Heskey who is 24, Owen 23, young Mellor, 20, while Baros and Diouf are 20 and 21.
"If I can bring some experience to them, they are only young kids, I will be happy just doing that."
