Rush rumoured for promotion

Benitez has a mainly Spanish backroom staff but he hopes to maintain a Liverpool connection by promoting Rush from a part-time strikers coach to a member of his full-time team.

Ian Rush has earned the same UEFA coaching qualifications as Gerard Houllier and is highly rated as a coach by the Welsh Football Association for his work with the Wales under 17's.
