Frank Farina called it a day after a poor Confederations Cup, and the former Liverpool legend is being tipped to succeed him, with Howard Wilkinson or Jim Smith likely to become director of football to help him.

"We will be conducting interviews, and are hopeful a decision will be made within a three-week window," said Chief executive John O'Neil.

"We hope to be able to appoint someone who has credentials, credibility, and standing in the world football community.
"We have an obsession with qualifying for the World Cup, it's a massively big deal for us, and we want to leave no stone unturned."
