Rush will sort Emile out

The Liverpool boss appointed the former player as striking coach last season and believes his experience will benefit the club.

"I don't need a psychologist to work with Emile when I've got Ian Rush," said Houllier. "Ian has been very good for the strikers here and I wish I had made the move to bring him in even earlier.

"He doesn't come every day, just a few days a week, but when he is here he gives tips on how to be a top striker with advice on movement, how to use your shoulder, how to make your runs into the box, everything.

"It is something the coaching team could do themselves, but when the message is being passed on by a great striker who has done it all then it gives them something extra."
