Salif set for St Etienne?

The tough-tackling Senegal international has endured a nigtmare spell at Anfield since moving to the club alongside fellow flop El-Hadji Diouf and now it appears that at least two of the infamous £19m trio will not be part of Rafael Benitez's future plans on Merseyside.

New St Etienne coach Elie Baup is said to be a firm fan of Diao's talents and could make a summer swoop for the former Sedan midfielder as part of his bid to keep the newly-promoted side in the elite of French football.
