The Reds have had a poor start to their league campaign and are already eleven points behind both Chelsea and Man Utd. However, Rafa Benitez believes Liverpool's past experiences will show they are still on the right track and still capable of having a good season.

"When we arrived here in the first season we were the worst Liverpool in 40 years after losing against Burnley in the FA Cup, and then we won the Champions League and we were in the final of the Carling Cup. It wasn't bad for the first season," said the Spaniard.

"The second one we improved. We were 24 points behind Chelsea in November. We finished with a record for the club, 82 points, a lot of games won in a row, a record of the club, 33 clean sheets, one behind the record.

"We won the Super Cup, we won the FA Cup, we were in the final of the Inter-Continental Cup, it wasn't bad. Then we won the Community Shield."
