Second still in Reds' sight

Liverpool capitalised on second placed Manchester United's 0-0 home draw with relegated Sunderland by picking up all three points from today's clash with Champions League chasing Blackburn Rovers.

This weekend's results leave the Reds three points behind Man Ure albeit having played a game more. However, with Utd facing difficult games against Chelsea, Spurs and Blackburn the race for second spot is still on.

Today's win also means Liverpool need only one more point to secure third and a guarenteed place in the Champions League third round qualifier regardless of what Arsenal do in Europe.
