Rafael Benitez is said to be prepared to pay up to £8m for the Portugues winger, although Benfica are currently holding out for £12m.
"We know that we will have to sell him, it is just a question of price," said club president Luis Filipe Vieria. "If Liverpool had come up with £12 million, then he would already have gone."
