Richardson was a founding member of Simply Red but quit the band in 1987 after becoming disillusioned with the music industry. He is now a qualified masseur and has joined up with the Reds at their pre-season training camp in Switzerland.
"They have been giving me a lot of stick. Especially Sammy Lee," said Richardson.
