The Australian winger played under the trio of David O'Leary, Terry Venables and Peter Reid for Leeds United, as well as Frank Farina for the national side, and is now already taking orders from his second Liverpool boss folowing the exit of Gerard Houllier this summer.
Kewell's 11 goals in his debut campaign were integral to the Reds claiming the fourth-and-final and Champions League spot in a turbulent year at Anfield, but he is hoping for stability under the guidance of Benitez.
Kewell said: "I like playing for Liverpool and want to feel settled now with the new boss Rafael Benitez. In the last three years I have played under six managers and just want some stability.
"We are confident and feeling good going into the new season and it is a big season for Liverpool. We want to be playing Champions League football but first we have to play a qualifier against Graz and we won't underestimate them."
