Smicer calls for killer instinct

The 29-year-old Czech international - who himself has yet to break his duck in the new campaign despite enjoying an upsurge in form - admits that he and his Anfield colleagues must show a greater desire to score goals then they have in the early months of the season.

Smicer, speaking to the club's official website, said: "We made good chances against Olimpija but we need to be more clinical. We need to show more desire to score goals. We had good movement but we need to be more aggressive in the box."
