Smicer delighted with Czech display

While first-team star Milan Baros came off the bench to hit the goal that sealed the Germans' Euro 2004 fate, Smicere was more than happy with the performances of the Czech resrrves on Wednesday.

Smicer said: "We played with a different team of course, but the players who haven't played too much in the first two games have shown they are good enough.

"It's an excellent result. Everyone thought maybe we were going to take it easy."
