Smicer, currently in Portugal starring for the impressive Czech Republic side alongside fellow Red Milan Baros, believes that he can play an integral part in Liverpool's bright future under the former Valencia supremo.
Smicer said: "I think he's been very successful in Valencia. I hope he's going to be the same in Liverpool.
"I've not spoken with the other players, not yet, only with Milan, of course.
"He will start from zero and will be using all the players as Liverpool players not Czech or English players.
"At the moment I would like to stay at Liverpool but it depends on how Benitez's opinion is of me, the club and the other players."
