Smicer issues rally cry

Liverpool find themselves four points clear at the top of the Premiership after an unbeaten start to the season, but Smicer knows that unless they can turn it on in the big games their hard work will go to waste.

He said: "The hard games are still ahead of us against Manchester United and against Arsenal. Those games will decide where we will finish this season so I don't look too much further ahead. Those games are going to be decisive.

"Last season, for example, Arsenal won the title here when they won at Anfield. They were down to ten men in bad conditions but they beat us 2-1. I think that was a decisive win for them and after that they kept going.

"I think it's important not to drop silly points at home. It's very important for us to win the home games - games against West Ham
