Smicer: Our futures are at stake

Liverpool have slipped to seventh after a run of ten league games without victory, and Smicer knows the players must take their share of the blame.

He said: "Of course, we are playing for our future at the club. At Liverpool you have to be successful and if you don't achieve what you should then you will be out.

"No-one wants to leave a club like this and I know all the players are happy here and want to stay and get the right results. But sometimes you have to look at your own performances and statistics and admit you can do much better.

"The fans and manager will analyse these things and if they're not happy they will say you have to go. Now is the time for us to prove we are good enough, not just in one game but consistently."
