Smicer, who scored Liverpool's vital second goal as well as notching in the penalty shoot-out, played his final game for the Reds in the 2005 European Cup final win over AC Milan.
After leaving Liverpool on an incredible high, Smicer joined Bordeaux and helped the French side into the Champions League in successive seasons. The Czech international will now make his first return to Anfield since winning the European Cup after the Reds drew Bordeaux in the group stage of the Champions League.
The Reds visit Bordeaux on October 18th before the return at Anfield on October 31st.
