Solidarity or blind faith?

A fans' march and non-stop chanting of his name are planned to reinforce support for the manager at a time when his future looks uncertain.

There has been a public falling out between Rafael Benitez and club owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks for the last week, and it could well end badly for the Liverpool boss if his team lose to Porto.

Whether or not a protest will help his cause is uncertain but, regardless of the outcome, it is clear that neither Benitez nor the chairmen have behaved discreetly in the matter, choosing to air their dirty laundry in public rather than resolving issues behind closed doors.
