Smith
Well thought of by everyone but Everton
Former Red Graeme Souness has admitted that he felt sick when he heard Walter Smith had been sacked by Everton.

Souness, who worked with Smith when he was boss of Glasgow Rangers before taking over the Anfield hotseat, said: "Walter was someone I worked with for five years and I had a great relationship with him. I am sick to hear what happened to him. We are great friends and I think he is a very good manager and a quality human being."

Gerard Houllier, a close friend of Walter Smith, spoke to him when he was dismissed to offer his words of support. The Liverpool manager will naturally miss the banter that he and Smith had between them over club rivalry.
