Souness expecting bad reception

The fiery Scot helped the Reds to three European cup triumphs as a player, but it is his disastrous reign as manager that is remembered on Merseyside. Despite giving an interview to the Sun newspaper, Souness is left baffled by the reception he receives at his former club.

Souness said: "The last time we played Liverpool, I got slaughtered by their fans because of things I was supposed to have said.

"I don't want there to be a problem between me and Liverpool because I had some great days there as a player and two of my kids were born there. It's a special place for me."
