Southend youngster remains at Melwood

The 16-year-old midfielder played an hour of the reserves game at Manchester City on Tuesday and will remain at Melwood until the end of he week.

"I played on the right wing against Manchester City and I did ok even though it isn't my preferred position," he said.

"That was my first game at that level but the reserve-team manager said he was proud of how well I played."
