Lucas returns to Melwood today to begin his pre-season training and as he returns, he does so to thanks from Spearing for the way he helped his fellow midfielder settle into the first team.
"He's helped me from the moment I stepped into the team and he's always been there supporting me. When we play together he always uses his experience to help me through the game and I think we bounce off each other and support each other very well," said the Academy graduate.
"I think it's about communication to get that balance right and we've been working quite well together."
