The reserve team vice-captain came on as a subsitute during Liverpool's 4-0 demolition of Real Madrid and his performance impressed the fans who were soon singing his name.
"To play at Anfield at any time is extra special for me, but to come on against probably the biggest club in the world makes it even better," said Spearing.
"It was hard to think straight when the Kop started singing my name. It is something I will never forget.
"Quite a few of the lads came up to me afterwards to say 'congratulations' - they were made up about the song. But I've got to look forward now, keep working hard and hopefully I'll get another chance."
