The 16 year old will be rewarded for an excellent display in Monday's FA Youth Cup game with Southend in which he scored five, by being called up by Kenny Dalglish to the first team squad. It was only last week that Dalglish gave Sterling a first team squad number.
Sterling will become the youngest player in Liverpool's history should he feature against Sparta Prague tomorrow.
