Super Carra reckons Gerrard could stay

The Reds defender, who had another superb performance yesterday, said he still hoped Gerrard would choose to stay at Anfield.

"Everyone seems convinced that he'll be leaving, but I'm not convinced.
We will see what happens at the end of the season," Carra said.

The defender also talked about his own commitment to Anfield, adding his comments regarding staying at Anfield for life had been taken out of context.

"I never said it. A reporter just asked me about a new contract, and I said no-one's been in touch with me. But he said you'd love to stay and I said of course. That was it, but the Sunday papers made something more of it," he said.

But Carragher was quick to point out that Anfield is where he wants to stay and play for many years to come.

"I'd love to stay, I'm a local lad playing for one of the biggest clubs around, a successful club, one of the most successful in Europe and I want to get Liverpool back to that and be a part of it. Who's bigger than Liverpool? If we get it right, I'm sure we will get back there," he said.

"A new manager has been brought in to get Liverpool back to the top and I want to be a part of that," he concluded.
