Subbuteo replicas of the lanky Liverpool striker are selling for up to £5 each on eBay.

"Someone has taken two old Subbuteo players, cut the legs off one of them and then glued them onto the other player so he's got extended legs," explained Subbuteo World spokesman Pete Whithead.

But owners are complaining that the higher centre of gravity is causing problems, with the player falling over too often.
