Takeover latest

One offer on the table is from George Gillett, owner of the Montreal Canadians Ice Hockey Club. The others are from Dubai International Capital, the private equity arm of the Arab state, and John Miskelly, the Belfast-based property millionaire.

Gillett is rumoured to be offering £250million for ownership of the club - £150m in shares and £100m to pay off debts.

David Moores values the club at £300m but it is believed he may be prepared to accept this latest offer.
