Takeover talks continue

Despised owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are still in talks with the Al-Sager family, members of the original Al-Kharafi consortium that were linked with the Reds a couple of months ago.

Abdulla Al-Sager is representing his family in the talks and says they are ongoing despite differences over the valuation of the club.

"They [Hicks and Gillett] are willing to negotiate and we are negotiating and will continue to do so in the weeks to come. We are serious and things can change," he told Bloomberg yesterday.

"Hicks and his team are nice people and unbelievably humble. We are huge supporters and we definitely want something to happen.

"I don't think anything will happen unless we get a better price, but we are still talking."
