Target wants summer move

Liverpool target Trevor Sinclair has again stated his desire to quit the Hammers in the summer.

West Ham rejected Liverpool's attempts to sign him earlier in the season and the Reds refused to pay over the odds for his services preventing the proposed transfer from going ahead.

"You see players involved in the Champions League and I wish I was part of something like that," said the winger.

"I want to test myself against the best in Europe on a more regular basis.

"Every time you play for England you think: 'Wow! Look at that.' It would be nice to have more experience of playing against the best, which in turn makes you a better player.

"I'm still on a long contract, but when I signed West Ham said they were going to keep hold of Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard and all of the best players.

"Then they sold them. They had their reasons but it went back on what they'd said to me. Suddenly the club was in decline, we had no manager and they'd broken the guarantees.

"Harry Redknapp had taken us into Europe via the InterToto Cup and we wanted to go forward and get into the UEFA Cup, then suddenly the best players had gone.

"The trouble is that the businessmen running the club will probably sell players again just as they did before.

"The club is moving in the right direction by bringing in some quality players this season like David James, Don Hutchison and a few others.

"The reason I wanted to move was to further my career and win something, and I still want to do that."
