He said: "At Villa we have an expectancy that we should be doing better than we are.
"The expectancy on Liverpool is even greater because of what they have done in recent years. And it is not always easy to play with that on your shoulders.
"I thought the Liverpool lads did okay. They can play better. We all know that."
