Taylor tips Reds

The Portsmouth midfielder has been impressed with Rafael Benitez's side since Pompey and the Reds played a pre-season game in Hong Kong. On the evidence of what he's seen so far Taylor has tipped Liverpool for the Premiership.

"I wouldn't say it was in the forefront of my mind what they achieved, was it in the 70s, 80s? They've had such a good time in the past and they want to get back there, and I don't see any reason why they can't reach those heights again," he said.

"I was asked a couple of questions at the start of the season and I think my tip was Liverpool to win the League.

"We played them in Hong Kong and they were very good, but it's going to be a completely different game to what that was in pre-season.

"I think they're going to do very well this year. They're on fire at the moment.

"For the Premier League I think it's good as well because it means that this year hopefully it will be slightly more competitive."
