The Liverpool board do not want a deal that allows Shinawatra the chance to outvote Chairman David Moores but Shinawatra wants three representatives on the board and a shareholding that will reduce Moores' hold on the club so he no longer has a majority stake.

Shinawatra, speaking from Bancock last night, said "We will not fly to Liverpool until we have an agreement, and we don't have one at the moment. It is understandable Mr Moores needs time to consider a proposal that removes his majority stake."
