The real Pela-deal

The Argentinian, who is only on a six month long contract at Anfield, said he has not yet reached his own high standards.

"I'm not yet at the real Pellegrino level," he said.

"I know what my best is, and it's not here yet. Yes, I've been happier with how I've played in the last three games, but I need to still improve. You never stop learning, no matter how long you've been in the game. You can improve every time you play," he added.

But when asked about any extensions to his short term contract, he succesfully avoided giving any answer.

He said: "I'm not thinking about what will happen with me ahead of next season. All that's important is Liverpool win, catch Everton and finish in the top four."

"It was a typical English game but we defended well when we had to. Everton used a lot of long balls and it was difficult having to defend so many second balls," he added.
