The real price of Harry Kewell

Leeds, who have sent details of their accounts to shareholders ahead of their AGM at the end of December, have revealed that they only received £2.5million for the Australian star.

Although they were reported to have received £3million, they paid £500,000 into the player's employee benefit trust.

Of the £5m transfer fee Kewell and his agent Bernie Mandic received £2million, plus the £500,000 into the trust.

Liverpool also paid a £2m signing-on fee.
