Houllier said: "Today I could feel a new strength and solidity about my team and I think that is a very good sign. I saw a strength defensively and a resolve that I really liked.
"The solidity that we were missing, maybe, is back, and we looked like we used to.
"We used the strength and willingness to play for each other that we need if we are going to succeed.
"If you are going to get anywhere you need to start with a defensive solidity and I am pleased we have shown that because it is a very good sign that we are back."
