The reluctant hero

Igor is a cult figure on the Kop already and yesterday's winner four minutes from time has enchanced his standing further. However, the man himself was reluctant to take any praise, preferring to talk about the club's push for fourth.

"It was very important to score but anyone could have scored it. We had a corner on the left, Stevie gave it to Djimi who knocked it over. I just found myself in the right spot and fortunately headed it past the keeper." said Igor.

"I'm just pleased we won. It's a result that puts the pressure on and that was our plan. Before the derby game our intention was to reduce the gap on Everton as much as we can and fourth spot is now in our sights. Confidence is high and anything is possible."
