Thompson, speaking in the Liverpool Echo, said: We are not going to say for one minute that everything in the garden is rosy.
"We know we have got to push on from here, but I'm pleased for the players and particularly for the boss.
"He, throughout, has come in for more criticism than anyone and there's no-one happier for him than the players and the backroom staff. Every day he wants the best."
