Title not won in October

Certain pundits have already written the Reds out of the title race but Hyypia points out that silverware is handed out in May not October and says Liverpool will be there or there abouts come the end of the season.

"Let's see where we are in May. Within the club, of course we want to win the title, but we've not been talking about it a lot because we've wanted to focus on each game and make sure we play to our ability in every match," said the Finn.

"The final step in building a side capable of winning the league is always most difficult. Winning the Premiership is tough and the expectations are high.

"They're high every season at Liverpool, but particularly this time with everyone talking about the title.

"We should only be thinking about the next game, and come the end people can judge us on the league table."
