"We always thought we could win - that is the Liverpool mentality. We had to keep on working until the end. A lot of goals are scored near the end of games in England, and we knew that it could be like this in this game," said the striker.
"I am very happy. We knew before that this was a massive game. We needed to get the three points and stay close to Manchester United in the league.
"We knew before that we needed to win. We have a lot more confidence now, of course.
"It's a very long title race. We know that United are at the top of the table at the moment but we have time and are going to fight until the end. It brings us closer than before, and we know that we still have a chance."
