The Liverpool striker, who has three goals in four appearances for the Reds this season, scored for Spain last night as they beat Latvia 2-0 in a European Championships qualifier.

Xabi Alonso was suspended for this game following his red card on Saturday while Pepe Reina was an unused subsitute.
