Torres wants success

Torres' hat-trick against Middlesbrough on Saturday brought his tally for the season to 21. However, the striker says his season will only be a successful one if the Reds win a trophy.

"Maybe people will look at it as successful season for me, but I'll only consider the season a success if we win something. I'm 23 and I've never won a medal," said the Spaniard.

"The only time was when I was an under-16 and U19 player and that's a long time ago. I've come here to win titles and whether that's this season, next season, I don't know when, but that's my target.

"I hope I'm here for a long time, I want to stay here for a long time. I have six years on my contract and if everything is okay maybe it will be more.

"I'd prefer to be remembered as someone who helped Liverpool to win trophies than a great goalscorer. I'm here to win titles. The Champions League is a very important target for me. I've got to score goals because it's my job but it's not the most important thing for me."
