Tranmere hoping for Reds support

Rovers supremo Lorraine Rogers is hoping that many Liverpool and Wirral-based Reds fans will lend their support to the second division promotion-hopefuls as the two team's fixtures rarely clash next season.

Liverpool fans regularly attended Prenton Park fixtures when Tranmere played home matches on a Friday night and Rogers believes that a return to this tradition will boost her side's hopes of reclaiming a place in the first division.

Rogers said: "One unique feature of the fixture list for the new season is that our home fixtures don't clash at all with those of Liverpool, also Liverpool supporters who love on the Wirral and would also like to support their local club can go to home games at both clubs."
