But Rovers did say they were interested in an investment deal with the Reds which could see some Rovers' youth team players on their way to Liverpool.
A statement on the club website said, "With regard to the issue of feeder clubs, Tranmere Rovers feel it is essential that the club has its own identity and independence. The club is very proud of its history and identity and has a special relationship with the people of Wirral. Furthermore, feeder clubs or nursery clubs are not permitted under Football League rules.
But, "Like most clubs in the Premiership and Football League, we would welcome new investment from a credible interested party and therefore would always be prepared to enter into discussions. The club has received enquiries from time to time and will continue to welcome talks with interested parties."
