Trevor Sinclair has finally ended any chances of making a switch to Anfield after signing a new and improved contract with West Ham.

The Reds turned to other options when West Ham rejected a formal bid from Gerard Houllier but the Liverpool manager was still monitoring the player's situation.

Sinclair recently withdrew his written transfer request and everything now appears to be all rosey for the winger.

"It's all done and dusted now and I'm very happy to be playing for West Ham still," said Sinclair.

"It was the way I thought that the club had gone back on certain promises that they had made to me and I was also questioning the ambition of the club at the time.

"Looking back now, I was probably right in doing what I did at the time, but things have worked out well and I'm happy at West Ham.

"There's a good core of players here that are battling to be in the England set-up so I think that's all really encouraging for everyone."
