Traore has confidence in Reds defence

With both Sami Hyypia and Stephane Henchoz missing for the Reds, Traore and Biscan will be asked to marshal the Liverpool defence as a pair for the first time. Traore, though, believes that his experience playing alongside Biscan for the reserves will prove invaluable come Saturday.

Traore told the club's official website: "I have no doubts at all that myself and Igor can perform on the day and do the job for the team.

"I have been happy with my performances over recent weeks and I'm looking forward to the challenge which lies ahead for us on Saturday.

"I have played alongside Igor many times for the reserves and so we do have an understanding of each other's game. Igor is a good player. He has come on a lot this season and has done well whenever he's been given a chance in the first team."

Traore knows only too well that the Reds must win all of their final games if they are to claim a Champions League place. Everton's Wayne Rooney will be the main threat to such a target this Saturday - though Traore feels that Liverpool have enough players to upset the Everton defence.

Traore added: "People talk about Rooney and what impact he might have on the game, but don't forget at the other end of the pitch we have Michael Owen and many other players who can score goals.

"I think knowing we have to win our games motivates us rather than puts pressure on us. We know what we have to do and we will just be taking one game at a time."
