Traore hoping for new contract

Traore was linked with a move to Everton last summer but Rafael Benitez refused to sell the player until he had had a look at him. Traore stayed and has established himself as a first-team regular.

Now, with only a year remaining on his current contract, Traore has spoken of his desire to remain a Liverpool player.

He said: "Every summer it is always the same. I have been going to Blackburn or West Brom or often to any team back in France that will have me, but all I want to do is play for Liverpool."
