Traore hoping to keep his place

Traore was an unused subsitute the last time Liverpool visited Cardiff in the 2003 League Cup victory over Man Ure, but this time around he is hoping for a starting place.

"It is different when you are on the bench. We beat Manchester United and I was very happy for the team but I was a little disappointed that I didn't participate in the game," said Traore.

"Maybe I will have the opportunity to play this time if I'm selected in the starting 11. I remember it being a great stadium with a great atmosphere and I am looking forward to it.

"We go into the final with confidence. We have lost 1-0 twice to Chelsea this season and on both occasions we conceded goals from set pieces. We will do everything we can on Sunday to try and win the trophy.

"I think with it being a final it will be different to playing them in the Premiership. We have players with experience for the final like Jamie Carragher, Sami Hyypia, Steven Gerrard and Jerzy Dudek.

"We also have Fernando Morientes who has won the Champions League three times and has a lot of medals. He has a lot of experience for the big games and I think on Sunday he can show everyone what he can do."
