"They wanted me with some options," said Akin, who could face the Reds next month when the two sides meet in the Champions League.
"We will hold talks soon again and I expect to get an agreement."
Akin has fallen out with the management because he says he is been forced to play out if position.
He said: "I am playing in midfield, but I am helping the defence and also the attack. They try not to see what I am doing and this makes me sad."
This speculation appears to be very weak at the moment with no similar reports doing the rounds in Liverpool.
