UEFA tie set to sell-out

With the notable exception of the quarter-final defeat to Scottish giants Celtic, the Reds UEFA Cup run last season failed to capture the imagination of supporters growing used to the likes of Roma and Barcelona visiting Anfield in the Champions League.

Tomorrow's opening home tie against Ljubljana, though, has seen the Anfield faithful embrace a competition now seen as a poor second to the elite competition of the Champions League.

42,000 tickets have already been sold for the European encounter, and the club expect that the few seats still available will be snapped up before kick-off tomorrow night.

Supporters hoping to be present for the opening UEFA Cup tie of the season at Anfield should visit the ticket office or phone the club at 0870 220 0034
