UEFA wait on Essien report

Referee Herbert Frandel faild to spot the deliberate foul, which could have easily broken Hamann's leg, but Essien may not be so lucky.

"The fact that he did not show any card does not mean that UEFA later can say it was an incident for a red card or yellow," said a UEFA spokesman.

"But there will be evaluation of the referee as always by the match observer."
