The Ukraine coach knows the Liverpool captain will be a serious threat to his side tonight and has asked Andriy Voronin for tips on how to keep him quiet.

"We had a conversation with Andriy and he gave characteristics of certain players," said Mikhailychenko.

"The more information you have the more chance you have to choose the right tactics. His knowledge has helped me.

"I feel the experience of Andriy Shevchenko and Voronin will help. They had enough time here to understand the atmosphere of English football. They know so many players here.

"Gerrard is a very good player at the moment, and you can see that he has great interaction with Wayne Rooney.

"I would say that both Rooney and Gerrard are probably the leading players in the England line-up at the moment, especially if they are at the top of their game."
